Project Summary

Lord Of The Dices is a game we built as team “StackOver5” for Bilkent University’s CS102 course (Spring 2025/2026). It has two modes: a side-scrolling world where the player walks, jumps, talks to merchants and meets enemies, and a turn-based battle screen where they play cards and roll dice to calculate damage. Along the way the player collects gold, cards, dice and relics to face each boss with a stronger loadout.

My Role

I was responsible for the game’s UI, screen navigation and Firebase integration: I wired more than 12 screens together through the central ScreenManager and made the inventory save to and load from the cloud. I also contributed to the character mechanics. 35 of the 150 commits in the team repository are mine.

Architecture

The project follows MVC. The model holds the Entity hierarchy, the card/dice/relic items and the FightManager that runs combat; the view is PlayScreen, BattleScreen, MainMenuScreen and more than 12 screens in total; the controller is a ScreenManager that centralises every screen transition plus an InputProcessor for keyboard and mouse input. Central screen management keeps transitions free of memory leaks.

Features

  • Six levels with bosses themed after the Seven Deadly Sins: Gluttony, Lust, Pride, Sloth, Wrath, Envy
  • Turn-based card-and-dice combat with dice locking and rerolls
  • Status effects such as poison, stun, bleeding, weaken and strengthen
  • Merchant trading, a discount shop, inventory and a relic system
  • Cloud save and load with Firebase
  • Story screens, a tutorial page, pause and options menus
