KOHS

Personal Automated Hydroponic Smart Farming System

Teknofest 4th place

Project Summary

KOHS is a soilless vertical farming unit designed for personal use inside living spaces, controlled through a cloud-based application, that autonomously provides the right environment for the selected plant. It aims to maximise yield and shorten growing time; through the mobile app the growing conditions are revised automatically and users can easily monitor their system.

How It Works

The system uses a Raspberry Pi and an Arduino Mega. The Raspberry Pi handles data processing and database management in Python, while the Arduino Mega reads the sensors (pH, EC, temperature, humidity) and controls operations such as irrigation and heating. The Flutter mobile app lets the user monitor and manage the system remotely.

Features and Functions

  • Automatically providing the right conditions (temperature, humidity, pH, EC) for the selected plant
  • Remote control and monitoring via the mobile app
  • Automated irrigation and nutrient solution management
  • Storing and analysing data in a database
  • Real-time notifications to the user
  • Compact design suited to personal use
